Boating & Fishing

Make Choiceland your hub to access some of Saskatchewan’s best fishing and boating opportunities:

  • Tobin Lake – World-famous for trophy walleye and northern pike

  • Codette Lake – Great for fishing and water recreation

  • F.A.T.S. Camp – A local launch point for fishing and outdoor excursions

Skiing at Wapiti

Winter enthusiasts can hit the slopes at Wapiti Valley Ski & Board Resort, located just a short drive from Choiceland. The resort offers downhill skiing and snowboarding for all ages, with rental equipment and a warm lodge to relax in between runs.

Swimming

Cool off in the summer at Torch Trail Bible Camp, which offers a safe and scenic spot to swim. The camp also provides various programs and activities for youth, making it a local summer favourite for families.

Canoeing on the Torch River

Bring your own canoe and take a relaxing trip down the Torch River, just north of town near the forest fringe. The best paddling conditions are during high water season—and trust us, you won’t be disappointed: there's a new view around every bend!

Curling

The Choiceland Curling Club operates on an artificial ice surface and is a go-to winter activity for residents. With regular bonspiels and community events, curling offers a fun and social way to stay active during the colder months.

Skating

The Choiceland Natural Ice Rink transforms into a winter wonderland each year, offering public skating and space for spontaneous hockey games. It’s a magical place for families to gather and enjoy classic Canadian winter fun.

Hunting

Choiceland is located in a region known for its excellent hunting opportunities, including white-tailed deer, black bear, and waterfowl. For those seeking guided experiences, Bear Paw Lodge is a trusted local outfitter offering comfortable accommodations and experienced guides.

Horseback Riding

The forested areas around Choiceland offer incredible back-country horseback riding opportunities. You can also connect with programs through Torch Trail Bible Camp that give youth and families the chance to experience trail riding in a safe and scenic setting.

Snowmobile & ATV

From your doorstep in Choiceland, you can ride straight onto some of Saskatchewan’s best groomed snowmobile trails. Join the local Snowmobile & ATV Club to take part in regularly scheduled rides and events, and check out Snocruise for more information on trail conditions and group rides.

Family Fun Day (July)

Each summer, Choiceland hosts Family Fun Day, a full day of activities, games, and entertainment for all ages. It’s a celebration of community spirit and a can’t-miss event, so be sure to check our Events Calendar for the official date and details.

Nipawin Regional Park

Just a short drive away, Nipawin Regional Park offers a spray park and playground—perfect for keeping kids active and cool during the summer. While you’re there, don’t forget to walk across the scenic Swinging Bridge, a favourite stop for locals and visitors alike.
