Choiceland Volunteer Fire Department
The Town of Choiceland is proud to be served by a dedicated group of volunteers who provide emergency response services to our town and surrounding area. The Choiceland Volunteer Fire Department plays a vital role in fire prevention, first response, and community safety.
Fire Department Overview
Our department is made up of 15 trained first responders, ready to assist in emergencies across Choiceland and the surrounding region.
Fire Chief: Ed Stroomer
Deputy Fire Chiefs: Keegan Faul and Jon Wadden
Head 1st Responder: Amber Zurloff
The department regularly participates in local events, parades, and public education campaigns—strengthening community ties while promoting fire safety.
Fire Prevention
Prevention is one of the most important aspects of fire safety. We encourage all residents to take steps at home to reduce the risk of fires and ensure their families are prepared in case of an emergency.

Equipment Highlight
One of the department’s most iconic vehicles is the 1942 Willeys Fire Engine, proudly featured in parades and community events. It represents the long-standing commitment of our volunteers to keeping Choiceland safe.
For emergencies, always dial 911.
For non-emergency questions about the fire department or becoming a volunteer, contact the Town Office or reach out to Fire Chief Ed Stroomer directly.
